About the Program: On February 2nd the USGBC Central Florida Chapter will host a program that will help home owners and builders understand how to improve energy efficiency in homes, how to verify those improvements with a rating system, and explore the return on investment for the improvements. Panelist will include a green home owner who has been through the LEED for Homes process and who will share his green home project experiences with other home owners. An architect who has remodeled homes for green will also share his expertise.
Representatives from Progress Energy and Orlando Utilities Commission will be on hand to explain how to navigate the tax credits, rebates, off-sets and other financial incentives for going green.
For Builders who want to start a green remodeling business, an energy rater will explain how he interacts with builders eager to start building more energy efficient homes.
Homeowners will learn there are several Green Building Rating Systems (LEED/ReGreenGuide, NAHB, FGBC, and others) to choose from that guide the process of greening a residential dwelling.
The U.S. Green Building Council promotes smart improvements to homes that are green, comfortable, and cost-effective ways to live better.

Ticket Prices: $20 for chapter members, $30 for guests and non-members, $10 for students (EGBs), $40 (members) to $60 (non-members) for entrance to the next three LEED Homes events.
