BYOB - Bring Your Own Bike (and helmet)! Bring your ride and glide through the Westside with San Anto Cultural Arts. The bicycle tour will kick off at San Anto Cultural Arts’ location at 2120 El Paso at 10 am and will feature 7 of the 44 San Anto Cultural Arts murals.
San Anto Cultural Arts is responsible for 44 culturally driven murals throughout the city’s Westside. The murals represent issues relevant to the San Antonio community and have created a veritable Mural District on the Westside. San Anto offers monthly Mural Tours (biking and walking) on the 2nd Saturday of each month. A donation of $10 per biker/walker is requested. All funds raised support the programs offered by San Anto: the El Placazo Community Newspaper & Mentor Program and the Community Mural & Public Art Program. San Anto Cultural Arts’ programs are free of charge and are projected to serve 575 inner city youth ages 9-19 in 2013.
Cyclists of all levels and abilities are welcomed to join this bike tour. The tour will cover approximately 3.5 miles and will be conducted at a moderate pace. Riders are strongly encouraged to bring and wear their helmet. All will be asked to sign a liability release.
Don’t miss the opportunity pick up some barrio art history and burn some calories at the same time.
