Join Rich Higgins, Master Cicerone and former local Brewmaster, for a one-hour seminar on common beer off-flavors and how they taste in barleywines. Taste six different "spiked" barleywines against the unspiked barleywine to prepare your palate for Toronado's Barleywine Festival. Taste DMS, diacetyl, acetaldehyde, trans-2-nonenal, acetic acid, and isoamyl acetate -- mmm, just like Mom used to make -- and learn what the hell they are and why they sometimes occur in beer.
