About the Class

The class is meant to equip students to do marital and pre-marital counseling. To this end, we will build upon a foundation of God’s design for marriage and seek to apply it in the many different areas of marriage. We will begin by establishing what Scripture says about marriage and how God has designed a man and woman to relate to one another in marriage. Upon this foundation, we will discuss the practical areas of communication, conflict resolution, finances, family planning, and physical intimacy. Students will be equipped with biblical principles in each one of these areas, as well as see how each area connects back to the foundations of the gospel. At the end of the class, students will have all of the content necessary to walk a couple through the 6-meeting process of pre-marital counseling.

Class Format

The class will be very discussion oriented, and will provide students with an opportunity to practice some of the skills they are learning in the class setting. Some reading is required in order to supplement what is being learned in class.
