Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) 1-day Renewal Program
The one-day Pediatric Advanced Life Support Renewal course is designed for healthcare providers who have previously taken the PALS Provider program, and who require renewal of their PALS credentials. PALS is based on simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation. Realistic simulations reinforce the following key concepts: proficiency in basic life support care; recognizing and initiating early management of peri-arrest conditions; managing cardiac arrest; identifying and treating respiratory failure, shock, and cardiopulminary failure, and providing initial care; PALS algorithms; and effective resuscitation team dynamics.
Programs are held in the Korman Research Building, on the campus of the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Course tuition includes the latest version of the American Heart Association Handbook of Emergency Cardiovascular Care. A sound knowledge of Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR) is prerequisite to registering for an PALS program. PALS programs do NOT renew CPR credentials.
