What is a church and how do you fit in? This class looks to the Bible to explore God’s vision for the local church, and the ways every believer is called to enjoy it. By the end of this class, you’ll have a fresh understanding of how to pursue a life in this local church family.

About The Class

The word “church” can come with a lot of baggage. What is a church, exactly, and what does it look like to be a part of one? When we read the Bible, we find that God has a lot to say about the church that he bought with Christ’s blood. What’s more, we find that every believer has a part to play in the family God is building together. This class spends time exploring what God has said about his church. We’ll cover the gospel message that creates the church, the relationships that make up the church, and the purpose of God’s church for believers and non-believers around us. We’ll finish the class with practical steps you can take to make what you’ve learned a reality in your life here at Cornerstone.

Class Format

This class is a blend of lecture and discussion. Bring a listening ear, honest questions and comments—we’ll all be learning from God’s Word together. Some reading is required in order to supplement what is being learned in class.
