“A Mile In My Shoes” is an interactive cultural exchange in which we learn more about one another through the sacred art of listening and the sharing of our personal experiences. Utilizing the device of “the cultural wheel” we will examine how specific aspects of our cultural backgrounds have influenced our perceptions and choices in life. Through fishbowl exercises, dyads, small group discussions, and other techniques, we will explore the richness of our respective backgrounds. A team of 15 facilitators will assist in the process to ensure that all discussions are engaging, respectful, and on point.
This is a marvelous opportunity to meet new people and to know others at a deeper level. Learning to appreciate and respect our differences is a cornerstone of living in Oneness.
Rev Deborah L. Johnson, Senior Minister of Inner Light Ministries, is a professional cultural diversity trainer with over 30 years experience. C. Michael Woodstock is a ministerial student at Holmes Institute and a life-time social change agent specializing in race relations.
