Supporting Youth with Learning Disabilities in an Afterschool Environment

Almost half of the students receiving special education services and supports in school are classified as children with specific learning disabilities (LD), but LD is still widely misunderstood. This workshop will provide an informative, hands-on overview of LD along with Q & A to help participants understand how their afterschool program can effectively approach LD.

As a result of this workshop, participants  will:

  • More accurately identify LD
  • Be better equipped to serve those children with LD
  • Better understand the components of an inclusive learning environment so that all youth participants can succeed
