This year we will again be joining alumni worldwide and holding a Feb Club Emeritus gathering. Those of us who are old enough to have taken part in the original Feb Club parties in the late 70s and early 80s, would like to keep the spirit by concentrating on spirits, ie, booze, which together with schmoozing and some dancing, were the best way to make it through that grey month in New Haven.
For this reason, we will get together for after-dinner drinks, which are referred to by the natives here as 'copas' (koh-pahs), and we will attempt to break the work week by holding it on a Wednesday evening. This has two advantages: first, cafés and bars are less crowded, and secondly, the hangover will be on our bosses' time, leaving us fresh for the weekend. As always:
