We are also proud to announce that three legendary underground horror film directors will be coming to Austin to screen several of their films on 35mm. Two of these creative minds have already been announced and include guerilla filmmaker Jim VanBebber (The Manson Family, Deadbeat at Dawn) and Jörg Buttgereit (Nekromantik 1 & 2, Schramm), all the way from Berlin, Germany.
Our third special guest director is confirmed, but we are holding off on announcing his or her name. It will be the first time this director has been to the United States in nearly twenty years!
In addition to the more than 50 horror feature films, short films, and documentaries and three nights of pulsating heavy metal, you will experience a full-blown Halloween extravaganza. Philip Anselmo, an original co-founder of the legendary New Orleans' House of Shock, will lend his hand in helping another fabled Texas fright creator in bringing a new haunted attraction to life at HHFF. Take in a film at our outdoor drive-in theater, find unique rock, metal and horror art and other treasures at our Vendors Of The Damned shopping strip, visit the rare bloody poster emporium and interact with world renowned best-selling true crime and horror authors who will be signing and discussing their books.
