Brown Bag Lunch and Learn Series – Business Model Canvas
for Nonprofit Organizations
Are you an entrepreneurial spirit?
Are you constantly thinking about how to create value and build new businesses for your organization?
Are you trying to find innovative ways of doing business to replace old, outdated ones?
Do you want to learn a new way to present your new business ideas?
Whether a start-up, existing business or a new line of business within an existing business, the Business Model Canvas is a tool you can use to strategize and present your ideas in a quick, simple and visual format. This lunch and learn will help nonprofit leaders easily identify the “who,” “what,” and “how” of running their businesses. The “who” is the target audience(s), the “what” is the value provided and needs that are addressed by the product/service, and the “how” is what resources and activities are crucial in satisfying your customers.”
· Kevin McCurren, executive director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Seidman College of Business, Grand Valley State University
· Dr. Timothy Syfert, affiliate instructor of management in the Seidman College of Business, Grand Valley State University
