Tripods and monopods allowed! For this Workshop only, we have been granted permission to photograph and use tripods/monopods in various areas of Grand Central Station with some exceptions, which are listed below. In this class, we will focus on the history and grander of one of the country's most utilized train stations. We will be learning low-light photography skills and photographing the interior of the building from specific and designated vantage points within the terminal. The class will finish outside with the opportunity to photography exterior views of the famous landmark - weather permitting.

Requirements: You MUST know the Manual Settings of your camera!! Key words to be familiar with: ISO, aperture, shutter speed, f-stop, exposure.

You must also stay with the group unless Jeff has directed you to split up for photographic opportunities. You must carry your designated permit with you at all times.

Required Equipment: Your camera.

Optional Equipment: External flash/speedlight and a tripod/monopod (both of these are optional but for best results, are recommended).

NOTE: we will only be allowed to use 10 tripods so once 10 tripods are out and being used, we must take turns and share the tripods.

About the Presenter:

Jeff Fowler is a photographer living in Brooklyn. His photographs have been seen on CNN, in Paper Magazine, in the San Francisco Chronicle, in the Guardian, and on the cover of Saxophone Journal (Lee Konitz, spring 2012). His first book, “The Edge of the Floating World,” a collection of photos from several years of living in Japan, was published in 2008.
