Event Details

Parents of an autistic adult give you an inside look at how to handle this difficult transitional time for an adolescent on the autism spectrum. 

 

The instructors for this course will be:

Corinne Callan, MEd, Educational Specialist
Provides educational assessments for children ages 5 to 18 and conducts educational therapy for decoding skills, spelling and writing. Corinne facilitates support groups for parents of children with special needs.


Eamonn Callan, PhD, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Stanford School of Education
While devoting most of his energy to administration, Dr. Callan is committed to teaching a course which instills in his students the ethical responsibility they have to students with special needs.

At Children's Health Council, we've been helping children and families for 60 years. Our Center, two schools and Community Clinic serve families in the Silicon Valley as well as the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Our areas of expertise include learning differences, anxiety and depression, ADHD and autism. We also provide excellent parent education services and parent consultations.

CHC has a rich history of serving our community’s kids and families. Founded in 1953 by one of Palo Alto’s first pediatricians, Dr. Esther B. Clark, CHC has remained steadfast in its mission to help children, teens and families find the best ways to learn, develop and thrive.
