February's Community Cinema film is Soul Food Junkies. This documentary delves into the historical and controversial relationship between the African American community and soul food. How does our affinity for soul food and its dietary restrictions affect the health of the African American community?

After the film, we'll discuss issues of food justice with local activists and initiatives including Cultivate Kansas City and The Beans&Greens Mobile Market

Community Cinema is a free monthly screening series presents fascinating documentaries from the Emmy-Award winning PBS series Independent Lens followed by lively discussions that connect films to local organizations and resources. Films are shown from September to June every second Saturday of the month at 11am.
