The NAACP Saturday School Program was established in 1990 at California Lutheran University by concerned parents, educators and interested community members to motivate African‑American youth and their families into a shared learning and teaching partnership. Students are provided a positive learning experience focusing on the educational, social, cultural, and historical contributions of the African‑American community.  The mission of the program is to enrich the lives of African‑American youth members and their families in a structured, cooperative learning environment. We gladly accept children of all ethniticies. Sponsorship of the NAACP Saturday School includes California Lutheran University, California State University, Northridge, and Moorpark Community College. 

New this semester: Participation in iStem Scholars. STEM Scholars Program is an initiative created in 2011 from a vision that every youth should have the ability to access opportunities and supports needed for a successful transition to a Science,Technology, Engineering, & Math related major or career.  STEM leverages the latest educational technology, test preparation, hands-on training through labs, lectures, and field-trips to develop a greater interest in science and math. Relevant STEM course material that sparks imagination, creativity, and encourages problem-solving in a team setting is what iSTEM Scholars provides students.  The Saturday School has partnered with Charles Drew University-who supply the curriculum, supplies, and instruction. Each student will receive a lab coat, personalized with their name.

A Guest Speaker from the community who discusses career opportunities. Past Guest Speakers have included Business People, Educators, Physicians, Nurses, Entertainers, Police Chief, and Entrepreneurs to name a few.

 The NAACP Saturday Program goals for our K to 12 students are:
