Great images are made with great light. In this course, you’ll learn how to create and control light – the key to executing your vision and making an exceptional photograph!
This class is held in the beautiful pro studios at Smashbox in Culver City where we have a truckload of Samy's Profoto and other lighting gear sent over. Don't be fooled, no other organization can offer this level of class at this price. There will be multiple shooting stations with numerous model/actors to practice the lighting and posing skills that George teaches. Lunch will be provided.
This course will familiarize you with the use of professional strobe lighting, modifiers, reflectors, meters, radio transmitters (pocket wizards), custom white balance, as well as continuous light sources.
If you are interested in building your own lighting kit, this course is the place to start! We will help you outfit your kit with the professional tools that are right for you.
Requirements: Please bring your cameras to class. Requires the use of a Digital SLR, mastery of manual controls, and a good workflow for your digital images.

Samy's EDU is the largest photo program on the West Coast. In 2012 we held over 300 classes serving over 5000 students. We offer classes for all levels of photographers on subjects like DSLR Video, Lightroom/Photoshop, Digital Black and White, Fine Art Travel, Studio and Location Lighting. We have 3 classrooms at the Fairfax location including a computer classroom and a 50 seat seminar room with Leica projector and 55" 3D TV. There are also classes in the EDU classroom in Santa Ana, Culver City, Pasadena and Santa Barbara.
