Event Details

It's baaaaaak! Yes, once again, the fearless Creativity and Innovation SIG proudly presents the Annual Imaginative Trainer's Lab, Friday, February

The assignment: You and your fellow ASTDps members form into small teams.

The goal: Each team will be challenged to perform creative alchemy, taking the "lead" of a deadly dull training course like "Accounting for the Non-financial Manager" and within a very brief time period transform it into the gold of an engaging, meaningful adult learning experience.

This is indeed a lab experience. Introductory instructions are kept to a minimum. The Lab is a concentrated, high-energy experience. We create a safe, fun environment for you to practice with your peers new creative thinking techniques, leadership skills, and group performance methods. The Lab is followed by a short processing period where the entire group sorts out and derives appropriate learnings from the experience.

The outcome: Participants learn how to package and convey each member's own creative excitement and energy as a gift to other adult learners.

The importance of creativity and innovation continues to gain in recognition and importance. Among other indicators of this, National ASTD CEO Tony Bingham announced here in Seattle this past November that creative thinking and innovation had moved near the top of skill sets most in demand by CEOs.

Typically, the Creativity and Innovation SIG provides you with tools and techniques to help others reclaim and extend their creative potential -- and turn that potential into practical and profitable innovation. Once a year, through the Imaginative Trainer's Lab, we turn the spotlight on our own field. The Lab enables workplace learning and performance professionals to reclaim their creative potential. The result: innovative learning products!

This is one session you will not want to miss!
