Following our sell-out Melbourne event,

we're bringing this hot topic to Sydney.

Raising capital is hard enough. You can’t afford to do it badly. You won’t get a second chance!

During this two hour seminar, attendees will learn from five of Australia’s leading experts on venture capital and business development - real investors, currently seeking investment opportunities, and successful entrepreneurs, who have ‘been there’ and secured private funding for their growing companies.

Michael Zimmerman, CEO, BuildingIQ

VC and adviser turned entrepreneur.

Michael has spent the last 20 years working with high growth companies and the last 12 years as an executive, board member or investor in technology start ups.

Prior to BuildingIQ, Michael was a General Partner at Technology Venture Partners, a leading Australian venture capital firm focused on cross-border opportunities, where he invested and worked with internet, software and mobile companies including ThreatMETRIX, Engana (sold to Finisar), MIG33, Viator, and Eurekster.

Previous to TVP, he was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Altos Ventures, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm, and a senior executive at iOwn Holdings, one of the leading internet mortgage and real estate companies (sold to Citigroup in 2001).

Michael has worked with Bain & Company, Goldman Sachs and The Mentoring Partnership. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) from Amherst College and an MBA from Stanford Business School.

Chris Hitchen, Managing Director, Getprice Pty Ltd

Serial entrepreneur with his own investment consortium.

Chris is the Managing Director of Getprice Pty Ltd, Australia’s leading independent shopping comparison site with an audience of around three million unique Australian Shoppers per month.

Before his role in the creation and rapid rise of Getprice, he provided consulting services to European clients on corporate development and strategy, including the London-based mobile commerce specialist Reporo; Europe’s largest search engine marketing agency, The Interactive Marketing Works; and Summit Media, a European full-service digital agency. This followed his role as Head of Pangora UK, a business owned by European Internet Portal, Lycos Europe.

Chris is a regular speaker at international events (e.g. Search Engine Strategies London) and is regularly engaged by Venture Capitalists and Business Owners for his opinions on strategy, market trends and business opportunities.
