Event Details

Steve Wiser, AIA, a local architect and historian, will present a talk on ‘Architects of Distinctive Houses’. Featured will be the designers of some of Louisville’s most beautiful and interesting residences. Among the architects to be discussed are: Clark & Loomis; Dodd & Cobb; John Bacon Hutchings; William Findt; Fred de Santo / Jasper Ward; Jim Peterson; Tim Winters; and Michael Koch; among others. Louisville always rates very high nationally as a great place to live, and there are many great places to live within Louisville. Steve will provide the bios of the designers who produced some of Louisville’s most distinctive houses.

Steve Wiser currently serves as President of the Louisville Historical League, and he has served as president of the AIA / CKC. He has written a number of books including: Louisville Tapestry: People & Places who helped Create America’s Most Livable city, Louisville 2035, Louisville Sites to See by Design, and Modern Houses of Louisville.

This event is co-sponsored with the American Institute of Architects Central Kentucky Chapter. There will be a wine and cheese reception before the lecture. This event is free for Filson and AIA members, $5 for all others.
