Have you ever wondered how you can get the best results out of your camera at the most random photography moments? Have you needed to take a picture at night and found your pictures to be a bit too dark? Or have you ever thought about why your pictures look too flat? During this course we will talk about the fundamentals of Depth of Field and Shutter Speed. Using different examples your Presenter will give you a hands-on approach to achieving your best shots during fast times or at night. Learning how to use different tools to change your Depth of Field you will learn how to achieve an almost "film" like look to your "flat" pictures. We will even teach you how to take beautiful "flat" pictures! This one hour Workshop will be followed up with a 15-30 minute Q&A session and then a 30 minute Skills Lab where you will use the tools you learned during the Presentation to achieve the photos you've always wanted to have.

Prerequisite: Please know the Manual Settings of your camera. We will NOT be going over Manual Settings for this Workshop. You may learn Manual Settings by taking the previous Manual Settings Workshop on Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 11-1pm.

About the Presenter:

Shayok Mukhopadhyay does a wide range of photography, from landscape to photojournalism, with a set of tools ranging from view cameras to video. He is currently at work on a short film about an alternative high school, and is scheduled to exhibit his Quebec work in New York early next year. He studied Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the International Center of Photography, New York.
