California Institute of the Arts' (CalArts) School of Theater begins its yearlong celebration of the works of Adrienne Kennedy with Funnyhouse of a Negro. Funnyhouse of a Negro, directed by Michael John Garcés, explores the mind of Sarah, a young black woman in the 1960s who is experiencing a breakdown. Sarah's struggle with her identity causes her to create several other selves that include Queen Victoria, the Duchess of Hapsburg, Jesus and Patrice Lumumba. Funnyhouse runs Wednesday-Tuesday, December 9-15, 2009 at 8 PM nightly in CalArts Ensemble Theater 400, 24700 McBean Parkway, Valencia CA, 91355. Ticket reservations can be made online at www.calarts.edu/events.

 

To gain entrance to the show, bring your printed confirmation to the Box Office located in the CalArts main gallery on the 3rd floor at least 20 minutes before curtain.

Unclaimed tickets will be released 20 minutes before curtain.

 

***Funnyhouse of a Negro will run 90 minutes without an intermission. No late seating will be permitted.****
