OSHA Site-Specific Targeting 2010 … Get Prepared!

Your company has been specifically targeting for inspection by OSHA through their Site-Specific Targeting Program.  A copy of the form letter your company was mailed and a press release concerning the program is enclosed for your information.  This means your company will probably be visited by an OSHA Compliance Officer this year.  Injury and illness information from your company’s OSHA 300 forms were reported by your company to OSHA on a “survey” form that was filed electronically or by mail.  Based on this information, OSHA has determined that your company is among the 900 businesses in Wisconsin or 1,100 businesses in Illinois with an unacceptably high injury rate that results in lost or restricted workdays.

This workshop will help you address these issues:

Ø      Explanation of OSHA’s site-specific targeting (SST) program

Ø      How to avoid over reporting injuries on the 300 Log

Ø      How to handle an OSHA Inspection

Ø       What programs OSHA requires you to have in place

Ø        How to reduce the occurrence of lost and restricted workday injuries

Ø        How to remove your company from the site-specific targeting program

This workshop may not prevent your company from being inspected, however, it will help you prepare and possibly prevent costly violations of various OSHA requirements.  OSHA has stepped up enforcement activity with its SST program.  It is far easier and less expensive for you to get started now versus waiting to deploy damage control measures after the inspection has occurred.
