Event Details

Suddenly, it happens: you have been shot, cut, or stabbed by an assailant! The mental decisions you make, and the self-treatment you initiate at the point you are wounded, can mean the difference between life and death!

This graphic and highly interactive course utilizes multiple video segments, chilling 911 calls, and real-world scenarios to give you the skills needed to survive a wounding incident by:

  • Separating myth from the reality of being wounded
  • Understanding the kinematics of wounding
  • Avoiding psychological and physiological incapacitation
  • Utilizing tactical breathing to lower your heart rate
  • Assessing yourself for wounds
  • Practicing treating chest wounds with occlusive dressings and Asherman Chest Seals
  • Applying CAT, SOF T, Cav Arms, and improvised tourniquets
  • Controlling bleeding with medical dressings, Israeli bandages/dressings, burn and blood stoppers, compression bandages/dressings and hemostatic agents
  • Maintaining the airway with positioning and nasopharyngeal airways
  • Discussing personal medical kit construction with examples
  • And more!

IF YOU HAVE ONLY LEARNED HOW TO TREAT WOUNDS YOU ONLY KNOW HALF THE SKILLS. CHANGING YOUR MINDSET IS AS (OR MORE) IMPORTANT AS WOUND TREATMENT TO YOUR SURVIVAL!
