Hospital Decontamination Operations/HAZMED Team (MDH)

Hospital Decon Operations Training
This is a basic 8 hour training program for either a new member to join the decontamination team or for an existing member to acheive the 8 hours of mandatory training.
(Morning Session)8:30 – 11:30 Am
Powerpoint presentations and classroom exercises
to include Decontamination of Radioactive Patients, and
Special Needs Patients.
Lunch on your own from 11:30 – 12:30pm
(Afternoon Session) 12:30pm – 3:15pm
vdeployment of TVI portable showers
v donning and doffing of haz-mat suits
v donning and doffing of PAPR
What you need to bring with you if you're not a BayCare Team Member:
q PAPR w/training filters and functional battery
q DECON training suit
q Tape (if needed)
q Copy of Completed Medical Evaluation
(This must be emailed to Dirk.Palmer@baycare.org prior to the first day of class and this form needs to be on file with your Employee Health Dept)

Morton Plant Mease- Emergency Preparedness
The Office of Emergency Preparedness for Morton Plant Mease Healthcare is responsible for Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Recovery of all emergencies that affect the hospitals or their ability to provide care for the community.
The Emergency Preparedness office also plans and responds to emergencies, provides training, and support to meet the requirements of the Emergency Management,and Life safety chapters of the Joint Commission, Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) and CMS.
This training is provided in coordination with The St. Petersburg Metropolitian Medical Response System (MMRS) to provide training to all Health and Medical organizations in the Pinellas/Pasco area of Florida.
