Description:

Everyone affected by trauma that causes Post Traumatic Stress Disorder needs support and access to treatment for recovery. The warning signs, symptoms and treatment options covered in this workshop will apply to military and non-military families. For military families, reintegration following homecoming involves taking time for the veteran, especially those affected by PTSD, to become reacquainted with people in their life. Family and friends can benefit from talking and listening to one another to restore trust, support and closeness. There are many times when returning veterans feel stress, uncertainty, concern and distance from others. Often these reactions can be difficult to manage. Some service members have psychosocial difficulties and struggle during their transitions back home. Because service members face redeployment back to overseas duty, it is especially important to address these difficulties during this time back home. During these transitions many service members and/or family members may turn to community service providers for help. You can learn healthy approaches to adjustment and be better prepared to support military and non-military families by attending this workshop.
