Event Details

France is home to some of the planet's most famous wines, and we could easily do a 52-week class and barely scratch the surface.  This 6-week overview class will take you on a tour of the most famous French grapes and regions.  You'll understand the difference between Burgundy and Bordeaux and receive a good grounding in wine grapes that are important all over the world.  We always have bread, olives, and antipasto with class, and naturally we'll explore the world of French cheeses too.

This class is great confidence builder for people who want to understand France specifically and "old world" wines in general.

  • Week 1 ~ Introduction to France: Wines, Regions, and Grapes
  • Week 2 ~ Northern France: Wines of the Loire Valley
  • Week 3 ~ Southern Stars: Provence, Languedoc-Roussillon, and the Rhone
  • Week 4 ~ White Light: Sparklers & Wines of Alsace
  • Week 5 ~ Pinot to the People: Burgundy
  • Week 6 ~ Bordeaux: Life is a Cabernet

Boston Wine School

A lot of people have never been to a wine class before, so let me tell you what to expect.

The Boston Wine School is a guaranteed 100% snob-free zone. No matter who you are. No matter how much you know about wine. We know how to make wine interesting and interactive for everyone.

Classes are small — usually 15 students max — and always start with sparkling wine, then bread, cheese, olives and antipasto. Expect to taste 6-8 specially selected wines. Weekend classes include dinner, featuring vegetarian options.

See you in class!
