Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (CT)
On Saturday, Nov 14, there will be a group of Ren-Faire people down at Turner Falls, mainly from the KC area. Included in this group are some falconers, who would really appreciate some photos, but can't really afford them.
The falconers plan on being there about 9am, and I believe the others are taking their lead on timing. Don't know how long it will go, but it starts getting dark around 4, so am using that as the cutoff time. Still, there might be some carrying on into the night.
If you have never been to Turner Falls, it is a trip you should take. I don't know how the leaves will be down there next week, a little late in the season, but overall the place is spectacular, with plenty of photo ops even without the performers. The ruins of a stone house (referred to as "the castle") stretch the side of the hill.
Cost: You will be out your gas, lodging and food. Park entrance fees are from their website:

There are also motels in Davis and Sulphur and the surrounding area.
Turner Falls is in south central Oklahoma, near the town of Davis, so it will take you awhile to get there.
If several want to go, we could sked a meeting and workout meeting time/area and caravaning details, (including who rides with whom, and if anyone wants to play musical vehicles during rest stops.
This could be a chance for one more adventure before winter sets in, so if you can make it, go and have fun!
The Google map may be misleading. Basically head down I-35 south of Okalahoma City and take exit #51 to the park.
