Join former military reporter Terry Boyd to learn more about "other government agencies" and covert corners of the military. Covert paramilitary groups have grown in strategic and tactical value since asymmetrical wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Boyd will talk about the secret and semi-secret world of Operational Detachment Alpha teams, CIA paramilitary forces, secret military bases and how the collision of conventional and unconventional warriors is changing how U.S. policy is executed.
Facilitator: Terry Boyd is a former military reporter for European Stars & Stripes and was based in Germany and Turkey. He covered the wars and peacekeeping missions in the Balkans, Iraq, and Afghanistan from 1999 through 2007. He is currently the chief operating officer for "Insider Louisville."
