INTRODUCTION:  Baptist Health in Jacksonville, Florida offers a comprehensive program of childbirth education classes in various locations and dates in either a three -week series or an all-day Saturday "marathon" class.

 In this one -day, crash course, you and your partner will be provided information relevant to giving birth in a hospital-setting ,while you increase your confidence in the birthing process.  This class includes information on the following:

• Discomforts of the Last Trimester
• Preterm Labor, Warning Signs and When to go to the Hospital
• Epidurals or Natural Birth: Learning More About Your Options
• Your Partner's Role During Labor
• What to Expect in the Hospital
• Comfort Measures in Labor
• Cesarean Birth
• Postpartum Care
• Basic Newborn Information

By learning the essentials of childbirth taught by experienced childbirth educators, you'll be given the tools to help you make the best choices for the birth of your baby. You only have your first baby once: Prepare and learn all you can!

Expectant parents are encouraged to complete this class between their 32nd -37th week, so register early as space is limited.

Please Note: Some breathing and relaxation is included in this class but you will not practice on the floor. For couples desiring additional Lamaze-type techniques, we offer a supplemental one-night  "Comfort Measures for Labor” class, This comfort measures class includes additional breathing exercises, progressive relaxation, imagery, positioning and labor rehearsal

You do not have to be a Baptist Health patient. Everyone is welcome to attend our classes

CLASS FORMAT:  Single day "marathon" class.  Lunch is own your own.

CLASS REGISTRATION:.Registration & pre-payment  is required. Registration includes you and your partner.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY:

To accommodate others who may wish to attend this class, we ask that all cancellations be submitted at least 72 hours prior to the start of the class.  If you paid a fee for the event, and you submitted the cancellation notice 72 hours or more prior to the start of the event, you can either apply the class fee to another Baptist Health event or request a refund.  Please submit your cancellation instructions here via Contact the Host.
