Event Details

The very first Home Enterprise Day takes place in this year's Global Entrepreneurship week on Friday 20th November.

Home enterprise is fast becoming a great way to start your business:

·         More than 60% of small businesses started from home. (UK Global Entrepreneurship Monitor)

·         There are currently 2.5 million businesses being run from home, with ambitions to grow. (ONS Labour Force Survey)

Business Begins at home aims to provide information, guidance and advice for those thinking about setting up a business at home. Home entrepreneurs will be on hand to give advice and to talk about their experience. Business support agencies will also be available to give advice.

There will also be four workshops to choose from:

·         “Is it for me?” – is business at home the right option for me?

·         How to develop a business idea – coming up with a good idea is the starting point for home enterprise.

·         Access to finance – how to resource your idea.

·         On-line Marketing for beginners – the Internet is fast becoming THE business tool for home entrepreneurs. This workshop will show you how to use it in your business.

The event is being delivered in partnership between Unleashing Enterprise, Nottingham City Council, NBV and The Prince’s Trust.

Unleashing Enterprise

Unleashing Enterprise is creating a partnership for all enterprise educators to pioneer a culture of enterprise across the East Midlands. The partnership is managed by the East Midlands Development Agency (emda) and developed in close partnership with educators, employers, enterprise agencies, policy makers and funding organisations.

The programme is helping to facilitate a more cohesive and planned approach to the development and delivery of the enterprise offer in the East Midlands. It is also helping to promote opportunities for all people, but mainly young people, to take up the enterprise skills offer in their schools, communities or places of work.
