The Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) incentive programs provide incentive payments to eligible professionals and eligible hospitals as they adopt, implement, upgrade or demonstrate meaningful use of certified EHR technology. These incentive programs are designed to support providers in this period of Health IT transition and instill the use of EHRs in meaningful ways to help our nation to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of health care.
CMS Region 9 and Region 10 are hosting this webinar at a time that is convenient for eligible professionals (EPs), eligible hospitals (EHs), and critical access hospitals (CAHs) on the West Coast in order to provide them with an overview of the final rule for Stage 2 for the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs and other changes to the programs. CMS subject matter expert with the Office of E-Health Standards and Services, Robert Anthony, will give the presentation, and conduct a question and answer session following it. CMS Region 9’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Betsy Thompson, will introduce Mr. Anthony.
