What you'll learn:
Using real-life examples, attendees will learn to develop applications with a balance of flexibility and structure. In addition to the basics, this training will dive into advanced topics encompassing the latest browser technology such as offline storage, WebSockets and routing with the HTML5 History API.
In this three-day course, we’ll cover:
- When to use Backbone
- Intro to using RESTful APIs and MVC
- Backbone Models
- Backbone Collections
- Backbone Views
- Backbone Router
- History Management
- Best Practices for Structuring your Application
- Testing & Debugging your Application
- Taking the application real-time (Using WebSockets)
- Playing Nice with Third-party APIs
Attendees should bring a laptop with WiFi and a power cord, ready with a code editor and and browser. We strongly recommend the Google Chrome browser.
We recommend one of the following text editors: TextMate, MacVim, Coda, or Sublime Text 2 for Mac; and E TextEditor, Notepad++, UltraEdit, or Sublime Text 2 for Windows. The most important thing is that you use a text editor you're comfortable with.

For our local guests who will be commuting in, The Bocoup Loft is a short walk from Red and Silver line access at South Station. There are also a number of paid parking lots and garages located along Congress St. and A St. which range in price from $11 to $15 per day. We recommend getting an early start in order to secure a parking space and arrive at the loft on time.
Refunds and Cancellation Policy
Need to cancel your ticket? Notify us in writing at email@example.com no less than 30 days before the training for a refund less a $100 processing fee. Cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the training are non-refundable.
You may transfer your ticket to another person by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org and providing authorization.
Confirmed and paid attendees who do not attend or cancel after the deadline are liable for the entire fee. In the event the training is cancelled, the liability of Bocoup, LLC is limited to the return of paid registration fees.
