Strategic planning, as it has been practiced, is typically long on process but rarely leaves the team feeling inspired and aligned. One reason is that along the way, the passion that should focus and ignite our teams usually gets lost. When we hold strategic clarity as the goal and place our organization's brand promise at the center, we can integrate and galvanize our organizations to make meaningful impact a reality. Specifically, a brand framework that crystalizes an organization's promise, values and personality is a powerful tool. It serves as a guidepost and daily decision filter that many organizations find more helpful than a strategic planning tome that sits on a shelf.
Sarah and Diane will share their tools for helping each organization clearly articulate who you are, what it is you do really well, and why it matters. This work provides not only internal clarity, but also greatly enhances the way in which you can communicate your organization's work to others. The day includes time to work with your own team on your organization, work one-on-one with either Sarah or Diane, and then work as a larger group to get peer feedback on a couple of organization's brand promise and frameworks.
Creating Your Brand Promise builds on the theory and cases that Sarah and Diane shared at the 2009 Marin Nonprofit Conference. We are delighted to bring them back to give you a chance to apply their approach to your own organizations. This is a highly interactive, experiential workshop, so we are limiting the number of organization to 10 to ensure everyone gets one on one coaching as well as time to work in groups on the exercises. We are asking that each attending organization commit to bringing at least two people to this workshop.
