The International Center for Clinical Excellence is pleased to announce the annual Train the Trainers conference to be held in Chicago, Illinois (USA) from August 9th through August 13th, 2009.  As the title of the event implies, emphasis will be placed on preparing participants to provide training, consultation, and supervision to therapists, agencies, and healthcare systems in the United States and abroad.  This intensive, hands-on training also represents the first step for those interested in becoming a recognized trainer in the Client Directed, Outcome Informed approach and an "Associate" of the ICCE.  State of the Art faculty include, ICCE director, Scott D. Miller, Ph.D., special guest lecturer and uber-researcher, Bruce Wampold, Ph.D., and ICCE senior associates and trainers, Cynthia Maeschalck, M.A., and Rob Axsen.

Through a combination of didactic presentations, skill building exercises, and feedback, participants will learn: (1) step by step instructions for training clinicians in CDOI: (2) how to use CDOI in supervision; (3) methods
and practices for dealing with and overcoming individual and agency inertia; (4)tips for top training sessions, learning and mastery exercises, and transformational presentations; and (5) the process of successful system
transformation.

Because the training will focus on preparing attendees to train, supervise, and consult with others, all applicants should be well versed in the basics of CDOI, including: (1) CDOI Research Foundations (i.e., empirical rearch supporting the common factors, outcome and alliance measures, and feedback); (2) Use of outcome management tools (including one or more of the following: ORS, SRS, CORE, and OQ 45); (3) Use of outcome management tools to inform and improve routine clinical practice.

Participants will receive: (1) Annotated presentations for beginning, intermediate and advanced trainings; (2) Manuals for training and supervising practitioners in CDOI; (3) Certificate of attendance and 24 hours of continuing education; (4) Access to the sit for the CDOI Training Associate exam and application process.

The training venue is situated along the beautiful "Magnificent Mile," near Northwestern hospital, atop a beautiful tall building steps from the best retail therapy and blues bars in Chicago. In addition to the content, the
conference features continental breakfast every morning, a night of Blues at one of Scott's favorite haunts , and dinner at arguably the best Italian restaurant in Chicago.
