Greetings Volunteers!
2012 will be the 66th Annual Asheville Holiday Parade. In honor of the ADA's 25th anniversary, our parade theme this year is "Silver & Snowflakes!" The day’s fun won’t end there. After the parade, there's lots of free fun and entertainment with JingleFest from 1–4 pm at Roger McGuire Green in Pack Square Park.
Two events means twice the volunteer slots! On the next page, you'll be given several options to choose from. We have multiple shifts throughout the day!
Feel free to pick several shifts but make sure they are not overlapping times!
The choice(s) you make will be the shift you are signed up for at the event. Due to needing specific shifts and duties, this sign-up is a little different than the Downtown After 5 eventbrites. This is a first come, first serve opportunity.
Volunteer Orientation
IMPORTANT VOLUNTEER MEETING will be Saturday, November 10 at 11 am. We will meet at the Grove Arcade Conference Room (in basement, 1 Page Ave). Assignments will be explained and written descriptions of what is required provided. Everyone will know who, what, where and when for parade day. We are so appreciative of your being part of this wonderful event in this 66th year of its history. Our goal is to have you fully aware of what assignment you will have and who your point person will be before you arrive on site, Saturday, November 17. We want this to be fun, and that means organized. We ask that you make every effort to attend this one meeting. If it is impossible, we will schedule a smaller gathering on Tuesday, November 13 at 6 pm for those who can't make the Saturday time. IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS WHO WANT TO VOLUNTEER, BRING THEM ALONG.
Volunteering for the Holiday Parade counts towards your 2012 Volunteer Perks points.
So how does this thing work?
Simple… Two to three weeks before each event, you will receive an invitation from Eventbrite (just like this one!) to volunteer for the next event. Just follow the directions to register yourself as an Eventbrite user (you may have already done this to attend the Volunteer Orientation Party. If so, simply log on and continue.)
If you wish to volunteer, follow the directions to REGISTER. You will be asked to check your preferred shifts and volunteer position. Once you finish, and register, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite, which will allow you to print your ticket. Each person wishing to volunteer will need to complete this step. You may register up to two people from the same invitation.
VERY IMPORTANT…YOU MUST PRINT THIS TICKET AND BRING IT WITH YOU!

When you come to the volunteer check in tent at the beginning of your shift, we will scan your tickets with our very-smart phones and VOILA! Your shift is counted towards our volunteer perks!
ATTN other very-smart phone users…you may also download the ticket onto your phone, where we can then scan your phone. Just make sure we can see the bar code from the ticket.
