Are you an early stage or aspiring digital merchant? Wish you had a better understanding of the eCommerce ecosystem before opening an online store? Intro to eCommerce is a high level class designed to provide early stage and aspiring digital merchants a holistic view of the  eCommerce ecosystem. Additionally, the class will give students a detailed overview of the fundamental processes & considerations essential to successfully launching an online store. We will explore questions ranging from, "which  eComm platform is right for my business," to "what does an eComm startup budget look like." Using real world examples & case studies, we will cover a wide range of successful eCommerce strategies to help propel ideas into action.

Student Takeways:

  • Identify emerging trends in the e-comm space.
  • Produce a comprehensive proposal for development.
  • Strategize your minimum viable product.
  • Build your e-comm budget.
  • Choose the right platform for your online store.
  • Uncover the four fundamental e-comm marketing channels to attract users.

Steve Weinrib is the Director of e-commerce at the iconic home furnishing retailer ABC Carpet & Home located in Union Square, Manhattan. In his current role, Steve oversees cross functional teams to ensure the success of ABC's digital future. Steve acted as a mentor in the Daily Candy "start small go big entrepreneurship program," and has advised, consulted and provided solutions for multiple companies ranked in the Internet Retailer 500 as well as startups in the e-commerce & retail space. In his spare time, Steve can be found surfing (as mentioned in WSJ), working on his documentary, or spending time with his two beautiful daughters.
