Alchemy Improv Comedy is committed to teaching the art of improv comedy throughout the Greenville area. Whether you are interested in performing and joining our company, or simply working on communication and collaboration in the real world, these comedy classes are for you.
The school manager Harrison Brookie is a trained educator who has spent several years teaching public high school. He was also a resident instructor at the DSI Comedy Theater in NC, which has heavily inspired our style and curriculum.
The instructor for this class, Ben Burris, starting doing improv in 2007, rocking 4 years of short and longform improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy. He also directed Clemson Improv as Vice President and later as President of the organization. He’s performed at the Blackbox Improv Festival and the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival. He has taken workshops with instructors from Annoyance, iO, Second City, Relapse, and JaCKPie theaters. Ben honed his humor writing skills as a member of Clemson’s student run humor publication, The Rapscallion. Now that Ben has graduated, he lives in Greenville working for an industrial safety solutions company as an electrical engineer.
Each class runs once a week, for six weeks from 6:30-9:00pm. There is no comedy or theater experience necessary and all students get free admission while they are enrolled in a class. Click on the course you would like to take to purchase online or you can call (864) 256-1467.
