Closing Argument: Sacramento City Council District 4 Debate
Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM (PDT)
The Sacramento Press will host a debate on Oct. 30 with the candidates seeking to represent the central city, Land Park and River Oaks on the City Council next year. The debate between Steve Hansen and Joe Yee will occur at 6:30 p.m. in the Cosmopolitan Cabaret theater, 1000 K St. Access Sacramento will broadcast the event live on Cable Channel 17 and on AccessSacramento.org.
Sacramento Press Editor-in-Chief Jared Goyette and Sacramento Bee Associate Editor Foon Rhee will serve as moderators. Questions will come from the live audience, community organizations, Sacramento Press readers and staff. Residents of District 4 who are willing to ask a question in front of the audience can submit a question after clicking on the "Register" button on this page.
For more information on the debate format, see Goyette’s article on Voter questions and followups.
The race is tight – only 75 votes separated the pair in the June primary – and with Nov. 6 approaching quickly, this debate will be one of the last chances voters get to directly ask the candidates questions and see them go head to head in their final forum. We hope to see you there.
We recommend parking in the garage on 10th Street between K and L. The main entrance is on 10th Street. (The Sacramento Press will not be responsible for validation of participants' parking).
DRINK SPECIAL FOR DEMOCRACY AT KBAR: $3 glasses of wine (Stone Cellar Chardonnay and Hogue Cabernet Sauvignon). Select beers for $2 and a speciality cocktail (TBD) for $5. *The Sacramento Press urges everyone to drink (and vote) responsibly.
The Sacramento Press would like to thank our event sponsor, Capitol Towers, for supporting the debate.
