Do you have questions about obtaining an employment visa?  Or applying for a green card?  This session will provide start-ups with an introduction to U.S. visa issues, with topics including student visas (F-1), employment visas (H-1B, E, TN, L-1 and O-1) as well as the permanent residence (green card) application process. Instructors are partners from Fragomen, a global law firm practicing exclusively in the area of immigration.

Carmita Alonso specializes in corporate immigration law and is experienced in representing top global financial services organizations and leading law firms. She has significant experience in helping international businesses manage and better understand international assignments and the employment of professionals on both a temporary and permanent basis in the United States. She works with companies to decrease the burden on human resources personnel while implementing cost-effective strategies for management of large-scale foreign national employee populations while ensuring compliance with immigration laws, Department of Labor regulations and the US Citizenship & Immigration Service programs.

Chad Blocker is a Partner in Fragomen’s New York office. He joined the firm in 1998 and has worked on a broad array of immigration matters for a diverse client base, including corporations in the following industries: financial services (investment banking, private wealth management, private equity, hedge funds), insurance and risk management, management consulting, technology, manufacturing, media, and energy, among others.
