The Pixel Lab: The Cross-Media Film Workshop is Power to the Pixel's brand new residential course being held 4 - 10 July 2010 at The St David's Hotel, Cardiff Bay. Aimed at European media professionals, it has a particular focus on the creation, finance and distribution of cross-media properties to create sustainable European media businesses.
Teaching will be led by leading international experts who are redefining how stories are told and how projects are financed in the new multi-platform world.
We are delighted to be opening out some of the Lab sessions to up to 30 members of the Welsh media industry. This is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to learn from world-class pioneers, many of whom will be visiting Wales for the first time.

Monday, 5 July
9.00-10.00: CREATING A STORY UNIVERSE with Jeff Gomez, President & CEO, Starlight Runner
(USA)
Right now, we are experiencing a moment of radical technological
change, with seismic shifts in the way that entertainment is conceived,
produced and distributed. Savvy writers and producers, and now even the
largest movie studios, advertising agencies and video game publishers
are incubating concepts that are designed to captivate and interact with
audiences across an array of media platforms. Attendees of this seminar
will learn the conceptual and narrative building blocks to create
compelling story worlds that are strong enough to withstand
multi-platform extension.
Tuesday, 6 July
9.00-10.00: CROSS-MEDIA
PRODUCER CASE STUDY with Nuno Bernardo, CEO beActive Entertainment
Emmy-award nominee and creator of Sofia's Diary, Nuno Bernardo
will discuss through a variety of case studies funding strategies that
are available through product placement and sponsorship; how to create
cross-media strategies to increase visibility and profitability; how to
use social media tools to create a community around your project as well
as how to monetise your IP.
Wednesday, 7 July
14.30 - 16.00: SOCIAL MEDIA AND OPTIMISING AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT with Monique de Haas, Dondersteen Media (NED)
Monique will explore how to engage your audience and the execution of a
successful cross-media strategy. In this session, she will teach
participants how to design for

Thursday, 8 July
09.00-10.00: NEW REVENUE MODELS & NEW DELIVERY PARTNERS with Wendy Bernfeld, MD RightStuff BV (NED)
Wendy will be giving an overview on how to maximise content exploitation across media and will explain who
is doing what where, and with which platforms.
Sessions will take place at The St. David's Hotel, Cardiff Bay. Please arrive half an hour before the first session to collect your delegate badge.
