iPhone Basic Training is a 3 day class that starts with how to become an official Apple iPhone developer and the fundamentals of the iPhone SDK.  Students are guided through basic application construction, data management, managing views and navigation, web services and animation.  Classes are small and involve hands-on individual and group exercises under the supervision of the instructor.

Lead Instructor: Alex Cone, CEO,CodeFab

Alex Cone has over 20 years' experience designing and implementing large-scale, mission critical systems for leading Wall Street firms and has also been working with Cocoa since its infancy - when it was still called NeXTstep and recently at Apple hq in Cupertino, California. When the iPhone SDK came out he brought together all his developers for an in-house "kitchen" on iPhone coding. CodeFab has been doing iPhone consulting ever since. Alex is a recognized expert in WebObjects, Web Services, enterprise scale financial systems and iPhone development and has lectured at Apple and OpenBase developer conferences.

The workshop includes over two hundred pages of course material specifically written for the workshop by the instructor Alex Cone, refreshments and lunches.

What Students are saying:

Ashish Singh
“ Good training class with lots of hands on exercises. Alex is excellent in solving all problems and answering all questions. He is very helpful. ”

Sara
“ Thanks, Alex, the presentation of materials, slides and exercises proved immensely helpful! ”

Patricia Bedard
“ The workshop covered all the material I needed to get started with iPhone application development, with just the right balance of presentations versus hands on exercises. The instructor (Alex Cone) was extremely knowledgeable and did an excellent job keeping the class interesting throughout the weekend. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in developing apps for the iPhone! ”

mr-sk
“ I had a solid time at the camp - we got to do a lot of hands on work. I was able to take much of what I learned and start coding. It provided a good jumping off point - although there is sooooo much more to learn. Since the bootcamp ended I've been up late, LATE at night coding (er and fighting w/IB) hah. Thanks Alex! ”

Nambi B
"Thanks very much for the very patient and detail oriented coaching by Alex! He talks and talks plenty anything on iphone framework and tools"

Oliver Paray
“ The 3 day course in iphone development was very informative and illuminating. There were certain aspects of iPhone and Mac OS development that I had difficulty learning on my own that were explained in a thorough and succinct manner by the trainer and the course. My deepest thanks to Alex Cone who taught the course and to all my colleagues who attended. ”

daryl bowden
“ This was a fantastic workshop. I had already been studying plenty on my own beforehand, but it was great to be able to cement the knowledge I had already acquired in addition to learning a ton of new concepts with the comfort of knowing I was learning it the right way. Alex was a great teacher and it was nice to be able to ask all the dumb questions I could ever think of and have him be able to answer them completely and fully. ”

Rance Fasoldt
"Alex was a great instructor, giving context along with the lessons and drills."

Jp
“ Was very impressed. Alex Cone was very knowledgeable and his presentation was clear and concise. ”

Paul Shoemaker
“ Alex made a lot of sense for us out of the new features and terminology, he gave many examples of how the new API's could be used. He encouraged us to experiment and look for unique ways to solve common problems and develop apps that people talk about. ”
