Join your friends and Dare to Dream’s “Actor in You Series” as we learn acting and public speaking skills while exploring the world created by author J.K. Rowling in the Harry Potter Series. Compete for the “House Cup” with your level by attending class, completing projects and exercises, and working together.

The Program runs from February 10 – April 21 2007 on Saturdays at our new space, 634 N 10th St. Manitowoc (on the corner of 10th and St. Clair). Register in Advance. Cost for this ten week program is $100 or $10/week.

No classes will be held Easter Weekend

Individuality is encouraged and all levels of experience are welcome. Empathy, sensitivity and concern for others are heavily emphasized throughout the series.

Level One: The First Steps (K-1 grade) 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. An introduction to imagination and creative dramatics. This level encourages creative play and introduces value based learning. Level One students will enter Rowlings’ World through story and improv.

Level Two: Starting to Play (2-3 grade) 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Studies the basics of stage and acting, focusing more on breaking the "shy" barrier. This level introduces storytelling, discovery and using one's imagination through events in the world of Harry Potter.

Level Three: The Great Adventure (4-5 grade) 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. By becoming friends of Harry Potter, students embark on an adventure through literature and public speaking. Explore basic theatre skills using characters and scenarios from the Harry Potter Series. Some script work will be introduced and students will have an opportunity to experience basics of movement for Stage Combat.

Level Four: Learning the Role (6-9 grade) 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. As advanced students of the art, more emphasis is placed on technique than on the exploration of Rowling’s World. This level defines the basic skills of acting at a more mature level. Setting and achieving goals, exploring morals and working on one's ability to think critically are emphasized. Students are exposed to short scenes and fundamental stage skills including a taste of stage combat.
