Event Details

Join us for a special full-day conference “Healthcare Information Technology: Change, Outlook and Opportunity” on November 20, 2012.
The conference highlights fundamental topics critical to building a successful company in Healthcare Information Technology (HIT): understanding the healthcare system’s complexity and perspectives of experienced entrepreneurs and investors, who will share their real-world successes and failures.
The event is organized and sponsored by the Life Sciences Angel Network and Continuum Health Partners with support of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation for Education and Entrepreneurship, The Gray Sheet/Elsevier Business Intelligence and others.
What’s the question? Recent e-health entrepreneurial activity is largely driven by:
- Convergence of information technology and healthcare
- Emergence of a new generation of consumer-usable sensors and devices
- Emergence of educated consumers of healthcare goods as a new generation of patients
We seek to determine whether innovation is more likely to occur within the system as it absorbs the changes (and changemakers), or outside the system (and change will gradually erode the center the center from outside).
What’s the purpose?
The purpose is to give entrepreneurs a sharper focus as they execute innovative ideas by sharing knowledge with active participants in the healthcare ecosystem, and to give established players a window to entrepreneurial innovation and fresh approaches to improve health and health care.
What’s the mechanism?
The conference is a centralized effort to bring together healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, investors and patients – all of us.
Who should attend?
Entrepreneurs: learn from all parties involved in the process of creation long-awaited improvements in health and healthcare
Industry: discuss changing business practices ranging form hospital systems to insurance companies
Investors: get actively involved in the growing market opportunities in digital health
