-Event will be held on Friday and Saturday, February 1 & 2 2013
-Event times will be from 10 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Any organization that closes early on either day will be automatically disqualified from the following year’s event
-Set up is on Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m on Friday. No equiptment will be allowed through the MOA loading docks after 9am on Friday morning.
-Clean up begins on Saturday at 9 p.m. until completed
-Maximum weight of large exhibits/displays is 45 pounds per square foot.
-2012's Government on Display Expo drew over 300,000 people to Mall of America
About the Mall of America
-The largest mall in the nation, it has 4 floors, and to walk a lap around one floor is .57 of a mile.
-A 1997 National Park Service Visitor Survey reported the Mall of America as the most visited attraction in the U.S.
-Past exhibits have featured a two-story house constructed in the Rotunda.

Federal/State Interagency Planning Meetings
An Interagency planning meeting schedule will be announced. Most meetings will be held at the Conference Room 110 at the Norman Point II Building in Bloomington. The final meeting in January will be held on-site at Mall of America in Bloomington, MN. This meeting is open to all agencies and it is not mandatory to attend all sessions. Locations of the Expo
The rotunda is the central focal point for special programs throughout the day and would is the place for a Conversation with America in the relaxed atmosphere of Mall of America. Standing capacity for this area is over 2,000 people as this area of the mall is four stories in height and specifically constructed for standing and watching events. The entire U.S. Congressional Delegation of Minnesota is invited and will be represented at the event by a staffed booth.
All four mall courts and the area surrounding the Rotunda are involved with the Expo. The courts are in front the main stores (Sears, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s) as well as the rotunda are themed. These locations are the area for agency exhibits. Exhibits need to be planned for the entire family from children to senior adults. Emphasis will be on fun and excitement. The mall has created CAD drawings for us of each of the court areas for use in planning. The mall wishes that all displays and programs be for people of all ages, in short, something for everyone. Rotunda - for the largest overall exhibits with no height restrictions and U.S. Congressional Booth
Sears Court - Military Displays
Nordstrom Court - Some height restrictions - Natural Resources/Land Management Displays
Bloomingdale and Macy's Courts - General Agency Displays
West Market Area - No height restrictions - General Agency Displays
Exhibits and Handouts
Mall management has review over all exhibits and handouts. Mall management must approve each agency display for the event. All displays must be no higher than 8 feet with displays of 6 feet in height or less desired. We require a backdrop for each display if your exhibit doesn’t incorporate one – the FEB will contract for delivery and setup for all agencies. Any display over 8 feet will not be considered outside of the rotunda area as it will block storefront signs. Photographs or detailed descriptions of displays will need to be submitted with detailed physical dimensions including footprint, weight/power needs and staffing. If you fail to submit detailed exhibit dimensions you may be automatically excluded from the event.
Mall officials must review and approve all handouts and give a ways prior to the event.
Agencies are encouraged to hang large banners throughout the mall however the Mall has a new policy that disallows hanging banners from the railings in the rotunda. Free standing pop-up banners are always welcome.Mall management must approve all banners prior to installation.
Vehicles & Food (Candy) Giveaways
At this time there are no official vehicles of Mall of America. Mall management must approve all vehicles regardless of type or use. Please list the vehicles you'd like to bring to Mall (including their make and model) for approval. Please call the FEB Office (612) 713-7200 for the Mall of America Vehicle Rules (NOTE: all Bloomington, Minnesota, Fire Marshal Fees will be paid this year). This would apply to aircraft, snowmobiles or other craft too. The City of Bloomington Fire Marshal will waive all fees for vehicles being brought into the mall (DOT and Military). Only wrapped food (e.g. candy, chocolates, etc. may be given out) and must be covered by a City of Bloomington Food Permit. Please identify in your application if you plan on giving out food.
There is a registration fee of ONLY $125 payable to “FEB Treasurer” or via credit card (VISA, MC) to cover interagency coordination expenses for the event. Registration is paid via Eventbrite. Registration is open October– December 2012. You will receive an automated registration confirmation of this transaction. The only other potential costs for the event for an agency could include: personnel costs for agencies to have personnel at the Mall, transportation costs and overnight stays for out of town agencies. The FEB is negotiating for all the agencies to obtain a general contract for skirted tables, backdrops and chairs. The FEB (612) 713-7200 will contract for delivery and setup for all agencies. Each agency will identify and rent through the FEB all tables and chairs or other equipment and requests for the event to ensure uniformity. There will not be a charge for tables and chairs this year. All outstanding bills from the last event must be paid in full prior to this year’s program or your agency will be excluded from participation in the GODE 2014.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION
There is telephone access in the rotunda and all the mall courts which are used (Macy’s Court, Rotunda, Sears Court, Nordstrom). If you require a telephone connection for an online computer terminal. The telephone connections with QWEST telephone company and will be billed by the FEB. Any local Internet Service Providers which are needed are the responsibility of the agency.

Federal Executive Board Events
The Federal Executive Boards (FEBs), established by Presidential Directive in 1961, are a forum for communication and collaboration among Federal agencies outside of Washington, DC. The need for effective coordination among the field activities of Federal departments and agencies was then, and is still, very clear. Approximately 85 percent of all Federal employees work outside the National Capital Region. Federal programs have their impact largely through the actions of the field representatives of the departments and agencies. In addition, Federal representatives are the principal contact with the Federal Government for the citizens of the United States. The National network of 28 FEBs, located in areas of significant Federal populations, serves as the cornerstone for strategic partnering in Government.
