Idaho Comprehensive Literacy 2010: 3 credits (Melissa Briggs, Instructor)
This course has been designed to increase teacher competency in the instruction of Reading and Language Arts in grades K-8. It meets the standards which are required in Idaho Code 33-1207A for teacher certification. Participants in this course will increase their understanding and knowledge of the following: 1. language structure and literacy instruction, 2. comprehensive research and best practices, and 3. methods of assessment and intervention.
This course has an introductory session. The remainder of the course is online. Participants must have access to a computer with online capabilities.
Required Introductory Meeting: Attend January 5, 2010 at Longfellow Elementary School, 2500 S. Higbee, Idaho Falls, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. During this meeting, you will receive your materials and an orientation explaining how and where to find online course materials. Non-refundable payment is due at this meeting. Those living far from Idaho Falls will have the opportunity to make alternate arrangements for this meeting.
All course work must be completed by April 30, 2010.

$150 for ISU credits, $35 for half the text cost
Free - instructor fee and half the text cost
Out-of-District Teachers: Total = $370
$150 for ISU credits, $70 for text, $150 for instructor fee
Check (payable to ISU) or Credit Card will be accepted for the 3 ISU credits.
Check (payable to District 91) will be accepted for the text cost and instructor fee.
