-----------------
Social Media Club is being organized for the purpose of sharing best practices, establishing ethics and standards, and promoting media literacy around the emerging area of Social Media. This is the beginning of a global conversation about building an organization and a community where the many diverse groups of people who care about social media can come together to discover, connect, share, and learn.
The roundtable will dig into what some of the activities at the other Clubs, discuss goals for 2007, in addition to covering other topics suggested by the London participants.
Some suggsted items to cover are:
# Set date to meet each month (second Tuesday, this Thursday, etc.) so members can prepare for future gatherings
# Gather a list of potential venues (we now have Fleishman Hillard and Blue Rubicon offices for your use). The person organizing the next meeting can choose the venue to set up the space.
# Put together a list of people who would like to be discussion leaders. I have received requests from several folks and I think it would be great to put together a running list and have it rotate so everyone has the opportunity to lead the conversations.
# We are also looking for local businesses or individuals to help support the London gatherings through drinks/snacks or alternate venues. If you are able to support in this manner, please shoot Kristie Wells an email at kristie [at] brainjams [dot] org and I will coordinate with the local organizers.
The event is FREE to attend, though we would like to ask you to register so we can prepare the space for your arrival.
