Key Note Introduction: Lauren Celano, founder and CEO of Propel Careers

Networking (verb) is defined as: The action or activity of cultivating relationships with people who can be helpful to one’s professional life, such as in identifying employment opportunities or moving to a higher position.

As science, technology, and business professionals, we all individually possess a wealth of expertise, experience and insight in our respective fields.  Through the creation and cultivation of multidisciplinary relationships, partnerships, and/or collaborations, we can further open doorways to new resources and opportunities - but it begins by making connections.

With this in mind, we invite you to an evening of making connections hosted by the Harvard Medical School/Harvard School of Dental Medicine Postdoctoral Association* (HMS/HSDM PDA) and the Worcester Polytechnic Institute Venture Forum (WPI-VF)**.

Delivering our key note networking “introduction” will be Lauren Celano, founder and CEO of Propel Careers.  The mission of Propel Careers is to cultivate and empower entrepreneurism at the earliest levels to support the next generation of successful industry leaders and entrepreneurs.  Lauren has nearly a decade of experience working with emerging drug discovery & development biotechnology companies both nationally and international.

Following our key note introduction, we will begin our evening of connections by briefly sharing select “networking experiences” submitted by attendees that will serve to highlight the challenges and successes experienced by all of us at some point during our networking history.

From 6:45-8:00 PM we will move to open networking so bring your business cards and join us for an evening of science, technology, and business networking.  Light refreshments will be provided.

*The HMS/HSDM PDA is a volunteer member run organization dedicated to improving the postdoctoral experience for all fellows at Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and their affiliate institutions.

** WPI-VF is a non-profit, volunteer based organization that serves entrepreneurs seeking to start their own technology-based business by providing knowledge through programs and venues in which to network.
