Friday, September 28, 2012 On the streets of the Gaslamp Quarter "If you haven't already sold your soul to rock & roll, Almost Famous should seal the deal." Rolling Stone Go where the music takes you and join the fun! Step outside to the streets of the Gaslamp and back to the heralded 70's for the "must-attend" bash of the Festival as film, music and festival goers come together to party under the stars with a giant screen showing of the Academy Award® winning film Almost Famous. In attendance – Pennie Lane – the real life inspiration for the character portrayed by Kate Hudson in the film – and if we get our way, maybe even a cameo from filmmaker Cameron Crowe. After the screening we'll keep the party rocking with live music presented by House of Blues... Rock on!

The indie movie scene hits the San Diego Film Festival with big events to convene, converse and celebrate the filmmakers. Each night's fete is held at one of the Gaslamp Quarter's hot spots or in the gorgeous setting of La Jolla. Open to Patrons, Sponsors, VIP Pass holders & Festival Pass holders (based on pass privileges) these events will have you rubbing shoulders with noteworthy filmmakers, celebrity guests and hip vibrant film lovers. Must be 21 with valid ID to attend all parties. Each party features a one hour hosted bar.

The VIP Lounges, located in the Gaslamp Quarter and in La Jolla, are open to Festival Pass and VIP Pass holders only. You must be 21 with valid ID for access to the lounges.

Founded in 2001, the San Diego Film Foundation, is an educational 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that produces the annual San Diego Film Festival. The Festival is the region's premier showcase for outstanding US and International independent filmmaking. The five day event is an educational, enlightening and entertaining gathering that embraces the region's diverse cultural landscape, enhances the arts community and expands the economic vitality of San Diego. The Foundation was established to create and implement film programs in partnership with local filmmakers, businesses, educational institutions and nonprofit social organizations.
