DESCRIPTION

How do we bring about change that transforms the way students think and learn? Research indicates that when students take ownership of and engage in authentic learning experiences, academic achievement increases.

During this hands-on workshop participants will explore:

  • NETS (National Educational Technology Standards) for students and teachers;
  • rethinking the role of teacher and student with an emphasis on learning spaces designed for studentcentered,collaborative learning;
  • best practices for implementing project-based/inquirybased learning experiences;
  • transforming curricula through integrated curriculum mapping, and units of study involving 21st century tools.
