Our October guest illustrator is none other than Aaron James Draplin! Join us for a night of drawing and inspiration, peak into his sketchbooks, hear what inspires Aaron's work and his process to create.
You’ll bring your own sketchbook, mingle with other participants, have a beverage, and draw in a few sketchbooks. There are no rules, no themes (unless you have one for your book) just pens, pencils, sketchbooks, and friends.
Directly following the event is Put A Bird In It– A silent auction to raise money for arts and music education. Throughout the night guest will have the opportunity to participate in several interactive experiences, beats will be flowing highlighting the Portland Music scene and food and drink will be available. sketchXchange is a chance to peep into the sketchbooks of some of our favorite local illustrators. Hear what inspires their work and learn about the process they use to create. This isn't a slide show event, guest illustrators will be sharing their actual sketchbooks.
So come join us for an intimate night amongst friends, drawing. If you come to enough sketchXchanges you could potentially have a whole sketchbook filled with illustrations by many people in our community.
